Welcome to Madrid!

Madrid, the capital of Spain and the third largest city in the EU, is a vibrant economic, political and cultural centre located in the heart of the peninsula. It offers world-class museums (Prado, Reina Sofía), intense nightlife, varied cuisine and a sunny climate.

Madrid is one of the most visited cities internationally each year due to factors such as its high historical, sporting, cultural, and business interest, making it an international attraction for different types of visitors.

Culturally, Madrid offers the museum triangle that includes the Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen, all of which are next to the Retiro Park and form”Paisajed de la Luz”, a UNESCO-recognized space.

In addition to this cultural complex, there are many other tourist attractions such as the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, and Puerta del Sol. If you are a sports lover, you can also visit two incredible soccer stadiums, the Stadium Riyadh Air Metropolitano and the Santiago Bernabeu with cutting-edge technology and recently renovated.

Shopping tourism in Madrid also plays a key role, given the desire of luxury companies and brands to promote themselves in one of Europe's most visited cities. That's why any tour of the capital's luxury stores should start with LOEWE, the Madrid-based leather goods company that has been adorning the arms of the world's most distinguished figures with its handbags since the 19th century. Its store on Gran Vía (Gran Vía, 8) is a gateway to the exquisiteness of bygone eras, and its new space in the Salamanca district (Serrano, 34) has been acclaimed for its design. Its iconic Amazona bag and leather accessories are particularly noteworthy.

When it comes to gastronomy, Madrid also has a lot to offer, with food markets such as San Miguel, San Anton, and San Idelfonso. Madrid is famous for its atmosphere, which usually revolves around the table. Try some tapas in La Latina, a calamari sandwich in the Plaza Mayor, or signature cuisine in one of its many Michelin-starred restaurants to soak up the city's atmosphere. If you want to enjoy authentic Madrid cuisine in a setting steeped in history, visit our century-old restaurants. And end the night in style at a designer venue, the most original cocktail bar, or a terrace with the most spectacular views of Madrid. In Madrid and other parts of Spain, we call tapa a small bite or snack served free with a drink.
